Paste the advert. The extractor pulls out the skills and qualifications it names, flags the ones that appear before the "desirable" section, and shows how often each is mentioned.

How this tool works

Adverts bury their real requirements in paragraphs of company description. Reading them as a keyword list tells you quickly whether the role suits you, and which of your examples to lead with.

Anything mentioned before the desirable section is treated as essential, and repeated mentions usually signal what the hiring manager actually cares about. Named qualifications and licences are listed separately because they are pass or fail.

Use the output as a checklist. For each essential skill, decide which of your own examples proves it — then make sure that example appears on the CV you send.

What happens to the information you enter

  • The advert text is analysed in your browser. It is never uploaded, stored or logged.
  • Do not paste anything confidential. A public job advert is fine.
  • Refreshing the page clears the text.

Read the EarnedStory privacy policy for the full detail.

What this tool will not do

  • It recognises common UK workplace skill language. Very specialist or technical adverts will show fewer matches.
  • It reads the advert, not you. It cannot tell you whether you will get the job.

Frequently asked questions

Does this beat applicant tracking systems?
No tool can promise that. What it can do is show you which requirements to address honestly and clearly in your CV and covering letter.
Should I copy the advert's wording onto my CV?
Mirror the terminology where it genuinely describes what you have done. Copying claims you cannot back up will fail at interview.
Is the advert text stored?
No. The analysis happens entirely in your browser.
