Who writes our guides
Guides are written and edited by the EarnedStory Editorial Team. Every guide names its author and shows the date it was published and the date it was last updated.
We do not publish invented author biographies, fabricated qualifications or made-up job titles. Where a guide has been checked by a second person before publication, that reviewer is named on the page.
How guides are researched
Guides are based on how UK employers describe roles in advertised vacancies, on published UK careers information, and on the common application problems we see people describe.
Where a guide relies on an outside source, that source is listed at the foot of the page with a link, so you can check it yourself.
What we never do
We would rather publish less than publish something we cannot stand behind.
- We never invent customer reviews, testimonials or case studies.
- We never invent statistics, success rates or salary figures.
- We never claim an outcome, an interview or a job offer that we cannot guarantee.
- We never present someone's private information as an example.
How AI is used
AI is used inside the product to help you rewrite and structure your own recorded achievements. It only works from evidence you have entered yourself: your role, your tasks, your results, your qualifications.
AI does not add employers, dates, figures, duties or qualifications you have not recorded. If the evidence is thin, the tool tells you what is missing instead of filling the gap.
AI-generated wording is a first draft. You must read it, correct anything that is not accurate and make sure it describes your own work truthfully before you send it to an employer.
Our published guides are written by people, not generated automatically.
Accuracy and the limits of our guidance
Career matches and recommendations are guidance, not a judgment on your ability and not a prediction of what an employer will do.
Salary ranges and working hours are indicative guidance drawn from advertised vacancies and published careers information. They are not offers and they vary by employer, region and experience.
Vacancies shown in the product are supplied by authorised third-party job platforms. EarnedStory is not a recruitment agency, does not employ or place candidates, and does not control those listings.
EarnedStory is not a qualification provider or an official verification service. Recording a skill or a qualification with us evidences it in your own words; it does not accredit or verify it.
Corrections policy
If you find something on this site that is wrong, out of date or unclear, tell us and we will check it.
We aim to reply within five working days. If we have made a factual error we correct it, update the 'last updated' date on the page, and note what changed where the change is significant.
If a career profile is inaccurate, tell us the career and what is wrong with it. Career profiles are reviewed by a person before they are published and are re-checked when the information behind them changes.
