How this tool works

Frontline work builds skills that never appear on the payslip. Closing a site alone is accountability. Splitting jobs across a short-staffed shift is delegation and prioritisation. Most people simply do not have the words to hand.

This checker maps ordinary duties to the skill language employers use in adverts and scoring frameworks — so you can see not only the skill, but the specific thing you did that proves it.

Take the evidence line next to each skill and write it up as a proper example. A skill claimed without evidence is worth very little on a CV; a skill with a dated example behind it is worth a great deal.

What happens to the information you enter

  • Your selections stay in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, saved or shared.
  • No account is needed and no email address is asked for.
  • Refreshing the page clears your answers.

Read the EarnedStory privacy policy for the full detail.

What this tool will not do

  • The list covers common retail, hospitality, logistics, care and customer-service duties. It is not exhaustive.
  • It reflects what you tick. It cannot verify anything, and neither should you claim more than you have done.

Frequently asked questions

What are transferable skills?
Skills that hold their value when you change employer or sector — planning, delegation, conflict resolution, compliance, working under pressure. They are the reason a shift leader can move into operations, logistics or office work.
How do I put these on a CV?
Never as a list on its own. Pair each skill with the duty that proves it, then write it as a bullet point under the job where it happened.
Is it free?
Yes, and no sign-up is needed. A free Career Passport is only useful if you want to keep the evidence and build on it.

Keep your evidence in one place

A free Career Passport records what you have actually done, dated and in your own words, so your next CV, interview or promotion case starts from evidence rather than memory.
